It is our great pleasure to invite you to join the Symposium on “Innovations in Food Research for Industrial Application” to be held at the International Mother Language Institute, Segun Bagicha, Dhaka, on May 4, 2024 (Saturday), from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM supported by the Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) Bangladesh region and the Committee of Action for Research, Extension and Services (CARES). The new research findings & technology will be introduced to the audiences to improve the quality of life of the people of Bangladesh.
Prof Dr. M. Shamsher Ali, former Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, has kindly consented to be the chief guest on this occasion. S. M. ferdouse Alam, Director General of Bangladesh Standard Testing Institute (BSTI) will be present as special guest and the Chairman, Akij Food and Beverages Limited, will be present as guest of honor. Professor Wen-Chien Lee, Former President, Asian Federation of Biotechnology (AFOB) will also be present as guest of honor. Many other distinguished guests from academia, research institutes, ministry officials, NGOs, and food manufacturers will be present at the event.

Workshop for designing the upcoming workplan

  • The workshop for designing the ACTIVITIES at least for next two years will be held at S H Castle & Resort on 03 September, 2022 (Saturday).
  • All interested members (founding and primary), are requested to register yourself by SMS/phone to the General Secretary (Mobile:-01971560560) by 31 August, 2022). Approx: 30 members are anticipated.

 

Following are the details of the workshops:

  • Date and start off time from Mokrram Bhavan, DU: 27th August, Saturday at 9:00 AM
  • Venue: S H Castle & Resort, Dhaka-Chittagong Highway Malibagh, P. O. Barpara, Langalbandh (6.0 km from Kachpur Bridge), U turn after Tata Motors
  • Workshop time: 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Lunch: 2:00 PM
  • Rest and return time start: 3:30/4:00 PM
  • Workshop major topic: Discussion, decisions and timeline about major activities of CARES, and FUN. The major objectives of CARES from the CARES WEBSITE/ MOU/ Constitution beforehand and participate in designing the ACTIVITIES at least for next two years.

CARES AGM 2021 and Appreciation of National and International Awardees

The Annual General Meeting of CARES will be held on May 28, 2022, at the Center for Advanced Research in Sciences (CARS), University of Dhaka. The event includes Inaugural, Scientific and Business Sessions. Professor Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman, Honorable Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka has given his kind consent to be the Chief Guest on the occasion.  Mr Sheikh Aziz Uddin, Chairman, Akij Expedition Ltd. will attend as the Special Guest. Three distinguished scientists amongst our Founding Members, the recipients of national and international awards will be honoured in the program. They will also talk about their scientific contributions in the Scientific Session. The Business session and lunch will follow this event.
